LoCash Cowboys are Chris Lucas and Preston Brust, who combine soul, rock, funk, pop, hip-hop, and gospel in a high-energy version of contemporary country. Lucas was born and raised outside Baltimore, Maryland, while Brust was born in Dermott, Arkansas but grew up in Kokomo, Indiana. A self-released album, LoCash Cowboys, appeared in 2008, after which the duo signed with Stroudavarious Records. A debut single on the label, “Here Comes Summer,â€* came out in 2010, and helped by a striking video directed by Brian Lazzaro, the song acted as a calling card for the Cowboys.
