A nonprofit, VCCA supports the creative work of the world's best writers, composers and artists. Now in it's 40th year, it is the largest artists' residency program in the nation.
VCCA is one of only three artists’ communities in the world with facilities on two continents: Mt. San Angelo in Amherst County, Virginia, and the Moulin à Nef in Auvillar, France.
VCCA operates America’s largest international artists’ residency exchange program, with partner institutions in Germany, Austria, Malta and Ireland.
Known as Fellows, VCCA writers, composers and artists have won just about every prestigious award there is including the Pulitzer Prize and the MacArthur "Genius Grant".
